President of the Board and Founder Dr. Joseph Yusin is the head of the Division of Allergy and Immunology and Training Program Director for Allergy/Immunology at the VA Greater Los Angeles Medical Center. A Cum Laude graduate of UC Irvine, Dr.Yusin earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. Completing his residency at Tulane University, Louisiana, Dr. Yusin went on to complete fellowships in both Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology at the UCLA Medical Center and the VA Greater Los Angeles Medical Center. He is currently involved in research projects related to allergic disorders, including asthma adherence. He has served various positions in the past including Co-Captain for the Arizona Ironman Medical Tent, Ringside Physician for Maricopa County, and Chair of the Greater Phoenix Allergy Society. He has received various community outreach awards for his work with nonprofits, including the Bank of America Local Hero award. He currently serves the Veterans Health Administration Field Advisory Committee as the Allergy/Immunology Chair. He founded the VA Allergy Consortium and oversees the VA/DOD Immunotherapy project that serves over 32 VA Medical Centers. Dr. Yusin currently is assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine.
An avid athlete, Dr. Yusin is a regular participant in masters swimming and enjoys participating in open water swimming. A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Yusin currently resides in Los Angeles California though travels frequently to Phoenix Arizona where is continues to work on Asthma Athletics Arizona. His future goals will be to establish an Asthma Athletics program for US veterans diagnosed with asthma. |
